The Florida State Fair believes that every youth exhibitor should receive proper training and
Information for Raising and Showing a Youth Animal Project. It is essential that the exhibitors
understand:
- The purpose of youth livestock projects
- The importance of ethics in youth livestock projects
- Proper animal handling and management
- The difference between animal welfare and animal rights
- Be prepared to be an ambassador for animal agriculture
The Youth Livestock Show Ethics and Animal Care Workshop is designed to certify students to meet the mandatory certification requirements that will be in effect for the 2026 Florida State Fair and many other Florida Fairs.
*Certification is only valid for three (3) Fair seasons, not three (3) calendar years.*
For the 2025/2026 Fair Season, Certification Numbers starting with 24, 25, or 26 are current and valid.
The requirements are as follows:
- ALL STUDENTS ENTERED IN THE 2026 FLORIDA STATE FAIR YOUTH MUST HAVE COMPLETED THE ETHICS TRAINING TO SHOW AN ANIMAL AT THE 2026 FLORIDA STATE FAIR.
- YOUTH EXHIBITING AT OTHER FLORIDA FAIRS SHOULD CHECK THAT SPECIFIC FAIR’S RULES FOR ETHICS QUALIFICATIONS.

- *** ALL YOUTH EXHIBITORS SHOWING IN THE 2026 FLORIDA STATE FAIR MUST HAVE AN ETHICS CERTIFICATION NUMBER BY JANUARY 19, 2026.
PLEASE NOTE: Attendance will qualify for certification, but NOT for Achievement Points
